N.Y., Calif. lawmakers promise resources, protection in wake of attacks on Asian seniors

This week, California lawmakers passed a bill to allocate $1.4 million in funds to tracking incidents of anti-Asian hate. The bill has yet to go into legislation. If it does successfully, the funds will go entirely to the organization Stop AAPI Hate.

Hundreds of people are volunteering to escort elderly Asian Americans to help keep them safe

Jacob Azevedo founded Compassion in Oakland, a program to escort elders on walks and errands around Oakland Chinatown to ensure they stay safe. This is part of a greater coalition of multiracial grass roots organizations working together to support and defend Asian Americans communities in the Bay Area

The Walt Disney Company Sends Message Denouncing the Violence Against Asian-American Pacific Islanders

The Gold List Aims To Make Sure Asian Actors And Filmmakers Strike Oscar Gold

The Gold List is a brand new initiative led by film industry professionals to give Asian American films better representation. Two organizations, Gold House and Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, will support advertising campaigns for Asian American films, which often are not equipped with a massive. Hollywood ad budget.

Biden nominates first South Asian American to lead personnel office

On February 23rd, President Biden announced his appointment of Kiran Ahuja to lead the Office of Personnel Management (OPM.) Ahuja has been part of the OPM for almost 6 years and has also served as the Executive Director for the White House Initiative on Asian American and Pacific Islanders.
